Per il costo dell'eventuale acquisizione si parla di una cifra vicina ai 1.3 miliardi di euro ed anche le recenti acquisizioni di Trader nei mercati emergenti di India e Cina sarebbero coerenti con l'ipotesi di accordo; come è ovvio, in rete, questo rumor si sta diffondendo molto rapidamente.
Ma cosa possono ricavare società come eBay, Google o Yahoo! dall'acquisto di Trader Media? Diversificare offline i propri investimenti? Direi proprio di no; acquisendo Trader quello che si vuole acquisire è il bacino di clienti locali (medi, piccoli e piccolissimi) da "educare" attraverso il rapporto consolidato di fiducia con la forza vendita sul territorio per giungere così all'obiettivo di dirottare parte degli investimenti in pubblicità tradizionale verso il canale online.
